Even MORE Books for Breast Cancer

I updated this post (well re-wrote it with updates)

Does anyone know how to do those sticky posts? You know the ones that stay up at the top of the blog so I don't have to keep re-writing them?

~Erin (having a blonde moment)

Books for Breast Cancer!

I was talking to Sasha White in e-mail last night. I told her about my decision to do this walk to end breast cancer. Her immediate response was to offer some autographed books (GYPSY HEART, BOUND, KINK, PURE SEX, THE COP, LUSH, And a CD with a PDF of all of her ebooks on it)up for a contest to raise money. I was stunned! And thrilled :) Sasha you rock! You can find all of Sasha's books at her website. If you love amazing HOT HOT stories you will LOVE Sasha's books. She's an author on my auto buy list! I have never been disappointed with any of her books I've read :)

Here's the deal. I've talked to the people at the local office for The Weekend to End Breast Cancer and they've give me the okay to do this.

What YOU need to do if you want the chance to support me AND have the chance to win 1 of 7 incredible prizes is make a donation of at least $10 (although more would bring me to my goal faster *g* If I make my goal before the walk I'm going to increase my efforts by another $1,000...or at least I'd like to). After making the donation email me at e.suitor@shaw.ca and I'll put your name into the draw as a thank you. Please put BOOKS FOR BREAST CANCER in the subject line. I'll even send you a thank you email to let you know I received the one from you.

:)

Thank you SO MUCH for your support!

Erin

It's official!

I registered last night!

On July 27-29, 2007 I'll be participating in a very special event called The Weekend to End Breast Cancer.

I'll walk 60 kilometres over the course of one weekend with thousands of other women and men. The net proceeds will support breast cancer research, treatment, and services through the Alberta Cancer Foundation.

I've agreed to raise at least $2,000, but I've set my personal goal at $3,000. So I need your help. Would you please consider making a donation? Use this link to go visit my site - and please take the time to support me. Please keep in mind how far I'm walking - and how hard I'll have to train.

According to the National Cancer Institute of Canada, approximately 20,500 Canadian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year, and about 5,400 will die from the disease. That's why I'm walking so far. To do something bold about breast cancer. I hope that you'll share this incredible adventure with me - by supporting me in my fundraising efforts.

Love Thursday

Love is letting the short ones decorate you in a game of hairdresser.

Happy Love Thursday, everyone! Don't forget to leave links of love at the love is all around us site or your images in the Love Thursday Flickr pool.

...taken from the Love Thursday Flickr pool...On Thursday, August 17th, 2006, Irene Nam from MOMster in Paris and Karen Walrond from Chookooloonks declared every Thursday "Love Thursday," inviting people to post pictures depicting love on their websites each week. In conjunction with this, behold the "Love Thursday" pool: feel free to upload your photographs depicting love in all its forms -- love of a partner, love of a child, love of a favourite toy, love of life -- to share with everybody. Unusual images of love -- fallen leaves that look like hearts, for example -- are also very welcome.

I've been tagged..

by Jaci

so here goes *s*

Contemporary, Historical, or Paranormal?

I prefer contemporary and paranormal ... I'm starting to give some historicals a chance. They don't capture my attention as well as most other genres though.

Hardback or Trade Paperback or Mass Market Paperback?

My budget calls for mass market, but I like trade, too. Hardbacks are rare for me.

Heyer or Austen?
Austen

Amazon or Brick and Mortar?

I don't even know what Brick and Mortar are (well I do but I'm assuming in this context they have something to do with a book store?)

Barnes & Noble or Borders?

Neither. I'm in Canada *s* The main book store here is Chapters.

Woodiwiss or Lindsay?
Lindsay

First romance novel you ever remember reading?
Oh dear god I have no idea. Probably The Promise by Danielle Steel?

Alphabetize by author Alphabetize by title or random?
Completely random!

Keep, Throw Away or Sell?

I could never throw away a book (unless it was in tatters, and even then I'd try to repair if I could). I'll give them to the library, hospital or a shelter if I don't intend to keep them, and a friend doesn't want them. My preference is to fall so in love with the story that I have to keep it though *s* T hat doesn't happen as often as I'd like unfortunately.

Read with dustjacket or remove it?
Mass market and trade paperbacks don't tend to come with dust jackets so this isn't really a delima LOL. If I do have a hard cover book I'll take the cover off while reading it then put it back on when it's on the shelf.

Sookie Stackhouse or Anita Blake?
Sookie!
Stop reading when tired or at chapter breaks?
I try to make it to the end of the chapter.

“It was a dark and stormy night” or “Once upon a time”?

It depends *s*

Crusie or SEP?
SEP

Buy or Borrow?
Mostly buy but sometimes borrow. If it's a new to me author I'll try at the library first.

Buying choice: Book Reviews, Recommendation or Browse?
Mostly recommendation from other people. I don’t pay much attention to reviews. I like 'discovering' new authors while browsing in the book store/library too :)

Tidy ending or Cliffhanger?

I like the tidy ending unless it's in a series.

Morning reading, Afternoon reading or Nighttime reading?

All of the above! Anytime I can find time to read :)

Series or standalone?

I love a good series! Stand alone's work for me too :) I'm a book slut LOL

Favorite book of which nobody else has heard?
I love both of Jeff Lindsay's books and can't wait for the third *s* Darkly Dreaming Dexter and Dearly Devoted Dexter. The 'hero' of the book, or main character is a serial killer...with a conscience. He only kills the bad guys.

Okay, now it's my turn to tag someone .... I choose Dakota, Isy and Michelle.

I need help!

I need some songs to keep me walking at a decent pace (and to keep me motivated) to put on my mp3 player while I'm getting in shape for the weekend to end breast cancer.

Suggestions?

For Sam

Weekend to end Breast Cancer

I've made the decision to participate in The Weekend to End Breast Cancer 60k walk this year. It's happening at the end of July. I'll be posting more information about the walk and how you can help me meet my donation goal (I'm thinking probably $3000.00 for my goal. I'm not sure yet though) as soon as I can.

Wish me luck with the training! (I'm horrifically out of shape)

Thirteen Things I shouldn't have to say at work...

1. Take your finger out of there!

2. Quit licking the door.

3. Oh for the love of all things shiny!

3. Take your hand out of your pants!

4. Oh for CRAP sake stop touching her/him!

5. You do NOT need to touch everyones chest when you want to say hi!

6. Quit licking the monitor!

7. My sleeve is NOT your kleenex!!!

8. Quit touching each other!

9. Get off the table it is NOT a bed!

10. Your shoes are on the wrong feet. Please switch them... (kid says no they aren't) Yes they ARE! (no they're good!) Oh just switch them! Now!

11. Get your finger OUT of your nose!

12. Get your hand OUT of there!

13. Quit licking the door! (again)

unfortunately I have to say each of these pretty much every day. LOL

Love Thursday

Instead of a Thursday 13 this week I'm participating in Love Thursday :)

This is a picture of me with my big sister (a long long time ago *g* You HAVE to love those 70's fashions, hmmm?) We're spending the night at my Grandma and Grandpa's house in this picture. *s*

Changes ....

Well I knew it was coming. My live in job officially ends on Thursday Jan. 11th. I am, however, able to stay in the house for a few months so the whole homeless thing isn't happening right away (yay).

I've decided to take the rest of January after that to enjoy ONLY working 1 full time job (my other day job) before looking for either something to suppliment it or something entirely different. I'll also have to decide if I can afford to take the chance of applying for a mortgage and buying a house (I'd have to move to an even smaller town than the one I'm in right now to be able to afford something) or waste my money renting. (rents are almost equal to mortgages right now but there's the added expenses of taxes and higher utilities when you're buying).

Cross your fingers for me!

Thursday 13

Thirteen Things about Erin - 13 things I would like to accomplish this year (or at least before I die)

1. Find a job that pays a living wage so I only have to work 40 (or so) hours a week.

2. Get healthier (not just lose weight)

3. Pay off credit cards (or at least keep them at a controlable level)

4. Take a vacation (even just a short one, and not necessarily anything expensive or elaborate. Just a break from work and stress)

5. Learn to cook better/healthier meals.

6. Get out more and enjoy life.

7. Figure out computer programs (word/office/excel/etc)

8. Read my TBR pile ... without it continuing to grow to HOLY CRAP levels of uncontrolability like it is now LOL

9. Laugh more - I'm sad way too often.

10. Find a decent place to live. (this one better actually happen SOON as I just lost one of my jobs ~ the live in one that provides a roof over my head lol)

11. Save some money.

12. Meet new people/make friendships.

13. Avoid negative people and people who I feel negative around.
